SUMMER
Tyrol isn’t just a destination for a winter getaway — in summer too, it offers endless opportunities for a wonderful holiday. The breathtaking landscape, pleasant climate, warm hospitality, and wide range of recreational activities make Ehrwald a top destination for both an active and a relaxing summer vacation. The fresh mountain air, peaceful surroundings, and stunning views will leave you feeling completely refreshed after a stay in Ehrwald — even after just a short visit.
Hiking
The surrounding mountains offer hiking opportunities for every level. Taking the lift up and walking across the gentle alpine meadows is easy and enjoyable for almost everyone. There are also several themed trails designed especially for children, with fun facts and activities along the way to keep things varied and engaging.
For those seeking more of a challenge, there are plenty of demanding mountain hikes, via ferrata climbing routes, and multi-day hut-to-hut treks.
Along the way, you can stop at one of the many mountain huts for a well-earned reward — whether that’s a cup of coffee, a bowl of soup, or a hearty warm meal. One of the great advantages of staying at Chalet La Bosch is that nearly all the hiking trails start right outside your door.
Mountain Biking
The Zugspitz Arena was declared Europe’s mountain biking paradise a few years ago. Around Ehrwald, you’ll find routes suitable for beginners as well as more experienced riders — and in nearby Lermoos, there’s even a dedicated freeride trail.
Activities for Kids
In the immediate surroundings of the chalet, you’ll find plenty of activities for children. Ehrwald itself offers an indoor climbing wall, covered tennis courts, and an indoor swimming pool. In Lermoos, there’s a beautiful outdoor pool, while swimming in mountain lakes or natural pools is also a popular option throughout the region.
Various children’s activities are organized in the area, including mountain climbing, pirate adventures, canyoning, and llama walks. About 20 minutes away, in Berwang, you’ll find a petting zoo with a large playground, and in Biberwier, you can enjoy the summer toboggan run or race down the mountain on giant scooters or go-karts.
City & Culture
A scenic train ride to Innsbruck is highly recommended. There, you can enjoy shopping or explore the charming old town with its famous Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl).
Within an hour’s drive, you’ll find several castles worth visiting — such as Neuschwanstein, the fairytale Disney castle in Füssen, or the romantic Linderhof in Reutte. And no trip to Ehrwald is complete without a visit to the Zugspitze Glacier, where you can take in the breathtaking panoramic views — and even enjoy a ride through the snow on a sled, even in summer!
Adventure & Outdoor Activities
Thrill-seekers will also find plenty to enjoy around Ehrwald — go paragliding in Lermoos, diving in one of the region’s lakes, paddleboarding on the Heiterwangersee, or walk across Tyrol’s longest suspension bridge in Reutte.
Golf
Ehrwald boasts a scenic 9-hole golf course, where you can play surrounded by stunning mountain views. The clubhouse also features an excellent and affordable restaurant. Within a 1 to 1.5-hour drive, you’ll find several other beautiful 18-hole golf courses to explore.
